![]() ![]() Being some of the early releases of sampled pianos for IOS, they lack sympathetic resonance. I seriously feel I get a more satisfying result with several pianos from iGrand and SampleTank. ![]() The main thing this has going for it is sympathetic resonance. However, it still lacks a realistic hammer attack in the sound. I am now more satisfied with the resulting sound. It allows the full spectrum of the Ravenscroft 275 to come through. I replaced the Keystation 88 with the Nektar LX88+ which does have internal adjustment of velocity. That was totally dependent on the software. And this keyboard had no internal way to adjust the velocity sensitivity. Well, my M-Audio Keystation 88 began to have problems with a few keys loosing their velocity. And no matter how I adjusted the two Velocity parameters in the App I was disappointed. When I played with greater velocity it never seemed to deliver the percussive, brighter hammer action sound I felt it should have. I have not even heard of the Production Voices Concert Grand so thank you for the heads up.When I first purchased Ravenscroft 275 I was quite disappointed with the sound. ![]() Never tried the Garritan as initially it didn't support half pedaling (I'm a pedal maniac, mostly making up for my obtuse fingerings). Also the newer versions are way better than the older ones which did, at least to my ears, sound a bit plastic like. Never lusted so much after a piano From just this early raw demo I think I can tell this one is going to be miles ahead of anything else (for a great sounding Steinway model D).What I have found with PianoTeq is you need to have the pro version and you do need to fiddle a little bit with it as the presets are a bit extreme. Never lusted so much after a piano From just this early raw demo I think I can tell this one is going to be miles ahead of anything else (for a great sounding Steinway model D). Have you heard the production voices concert grand (pre) demo? Newer version make small improvements but still largely the same problems in my opinion. I tried using it a while back for composing and I found the the most uninspirational piano ever. Very synthetic / empty / wrong tone in my opinion. Listen on different sound systems, on some it isn't so obvious but on others it's really not ok. (edit: and now the ivory studio grands)īut Pianoteq is just awful in my opinion. I get the Ravenscroft and Ivory American D, and I'd add the Garritan CFX. One HUGE consideration for me, is playability and the ones I've listed have excellent playability as well. I have all the Ivory collection except the uprights. ![]() I like the Bluthner and Steinway B along with the Grotrian.ģ. I have most of top contenders my A List is as follows, and in no particular order as they are all top quality, just different.ġ. ![]()
